Munro Manor is situated in Munro's
Hoek. This bay is where Bartolomeu Dias landed in 1488.
The area was named after a Mr. Monroe who settled here in
1831 with a concession to cull seals. He built the quaint
Old Cape thatched home in front to live in and the back
building as a tavern, one of the first two such drinking
establishments in the settlement. These two buildings are
considered to be the oldest homes in the town.
The unsurpassable sea views from the upper and lower decks
at dusk fills one with a warm glow and a deep sense of tranquility.
Bar facilities are provided and your every whim catered
for. So sit, relax and let the mood wash over you, and who
knows, you might see a whale or two...
On the lower deck, for the more energetic, there is a pool
with a special floor covering to retain heat longer. Bask
in the sunshine, or sit around our beautiful lapa - braai
area overlooking the sea and mountains.
